Tamminen's Lunch Restaurant has quickly become one of the city's most popular lunch spots.
Located in Vantaa, Finland, Tamminen's Lunch Restaurant has quickly become one of the city's most popular lunch spots—and the expansion plans are underway. Since its opening in November 2024, the restaurant's growth has been supported by Dieta's practical and energy-efficient kitchen, as well as a strong, trust-based partnership.
Tamminen is a Finnish family-owned company known for offering high-quality, responsibly produced domestic meat. When the company decided to open a lunch restaurant in 2024, expectations were modest.
"We wanted to create a pleasant, high-quality lunch spot for our own staff, as well as for residents and local businesses. Now, we're serving over 400 customers a day," says Mikko Jääskeläinen, CR & Development Director at Tamminen.
The secret to the restaurant's success lies not only in its convenient location but also in its recognizably delicious, high-quality food—they prepare the meals in-house, featuring familiar Tamminen products.
"The restaurant brings our brand closer to people's everyday lives, reflecting our company values through style, food, and service. Quality, creativity, and passion draw people in and make the experience memorable," Jääskeläinen reflects.

A kitchen designed for everyday efficiency
The premises previously housed an older lunch restaurant, but Tamminen decided on a complete renovation. When it came time to design the new kitchen, Dieta's customer-oriented and solution-driven approach impressed Jääskeläinen from the start, and the project moved forward quickly.
"Our chemistry and shared vision clicked right away," he emphasizes.
The kitchen concept, created in collaboration with Tamminen's staff, was completed in under two weeks. Functionality and menu-specific needs were considered alongside the intense lunch-hour rush, where every second counts.
"When hundreds of customers arrive within three hours, everything must work seamlessly," Jääskeläinen notes.
Dieta's first delivery included a combination of ovens, a tilting kettle, fryers, griddles, heating and cooling cabinets, mixers, refrigerated drawers, a dishwashing line, serving stations, hot and cold plates, buffet trolleys, shelving, and serving dishes. Installations were carried out in phases during autumn 2024.
"There's always fine-tuning in projects of this size, but everything was completed on schedule," Jääskeläinen says.
As the number of customers grew, the serving line was upgraded from a single to a double-sided line. Dieta also delivered an additional full-height oven, pan, and heating cabinet to meet increased demand. In addition, the project included user training and a maintenance agreement for the kitchen equipment.

The kitchen design places special emphasis on functionality and efficient workflow.

Responsibility and capacity for growth
At Tamminen's lunch restaurant, sustainability is evident not only in the ingredients but also in the energy-efficient, easy-to-maintain kitchen design. Low water consumption and energy-efficient ovens reduce environmental impact, while pre-chilling systems minimize food waste, and high-quality materials ensure effortless cleaning. With the maintenance agreement, equipment performance is checked annually.
"If there's food waste, the operation isn't sustainable—even if a restaurant uses local suppliers or reduces plastic. Concurrently, work safety, ergonomics, and smooth operation are equally important," Jääskeläinen points out.
The restaurant's growing popularity has led to new plans for expansion, which will add 35–40 customer seats to ease peak-time congestion. Dieta remains ready to meet Tamminen's evolving needs quickly and reliably.
"I've seen a lot during my career, and working with Dieta has been exceptionally smooth. The trust is mutual. Despite the tight schedule and fast decisions, the process stayed well under control. Honestly, I have nothing but praise—Dieta has truly been a partner in growth," Jääskeläinen concludes.
